ASEAN army chiefs hold virtual conference

A virtual conference of ASEAN army chiefs took place this morning, and together with the army chiefs of ASEAN countries,Deputy Commander-in-Chief of DefenceServices Commander-in-Chief (Army) Vice-Senior General SoeWin participated in the conference and discussed the holding of the 21st ASEAN Chiefs of Army Multilateral Meeting-ACAMMXXI and the 30th ASEAN Armies Rifle Meet- AARM XXX.

During the conference, views were exchanged on COVID-19 outbreaks and COVID-19 prevention, control and treatment measures in ASEAN countries and assistance of respective armed forces in ASEAN countries in the measures.

According to the agenda, the participants decided to hold the 21st ASEAN Chiefs of Army Multilateral Meeting-ACAMMXXI through virtual conferencing under the leadership of Brunei as the host country in November 2020 and not to hold the 30th ASEAN Armies Rifle Meet-AARM XXX because of COVID-19 infection.

Next, they agreed and decided that Myanmar is to host the 22nd ASEAN Chiefs of Army Multilateral Meeting-ACAMMXXII and the 30th ASEAN Armies Rifle Meet-AARM XXX in 2021.

Myanmar hosted ACAMM XIV and AARM XXIII in 2013 successfully and will hold them in 2021 as the alternate host.
